Judy Watson: a case study

19 March 2016 – 24 April 2016

Following on from the successful case study projects over the past three years, featuring work by Anne Zahalka, Janet Laurence and Ben Quilty respectively, this year's exhibition showcases works by leading Australian artist Judy Watson. With Aboriginal matrilineal family connections to Waanyi country in north-west Queensland, Watson has a reputation of being innovative and drawing inspiration from the land and the traditions of her culture. The artist is known for her poetic abstractions, distinctly stained canvases and complex layered prints, all represented in the case study.
