Stencils Past, Stencils Last

Street artist Mini Graff has been working in the gallery through May/June as artist in residence.

In a series of workshops coordinated by the ARG, Graff, together with Aboriginal artist Jason Wing, has brought extensive knowledge of street art practice to a group of Aboriginal artists of all ages.

The resulting artworks will explore the notion of contemporary Aboriginal culture as an extension of a traditional practice, where the technique of stencilling has its earliest roots. These artworks will be on exhibition in the gallery from July to October.

The Artist & Curator in Residence Grant Program is supported by the Copyright Agency Limited’s Cultural Fund, and is managed by Museums & Galleries NSW
